Free online scientific calculator with trig, log, exponential, factorial and full expression support. Mobile-friendly.
A scientific calculator handles algebraic expressions, exponents, roots, logarithms, trigonometric functions (sin, cos, tan and their inverses), hyperbolic functions, and the full set of mathematical functions found on a TI-30 or Casio fx-991 series scientific calculator.
Supports both degree and radian modes for trigonometric calculations, scientific notation input/output, memory operations, and the mathematical constants π, e, and Euler's gamma. Used for everything from school maths homework to engineering calculations to physics problem solving.
Inputs: Compute: 3 sin(60°) + 2² × log₁₀(1000)
Most often: the calculator is in the wrong angle mode. sin(30°) = 0.5 but sin(30 rad) ≈ −0.988. Always check the DEG / RAD setting. Other common issues: missing parentheses (3+4×2 = 11, not 14, due to operator precedence), implicit multiplication interpretation, and floating-point rounding errors on very large or very small numbers.
PEMDAS or BODMAS: Parentheses (Brackets) first, then Exponents (Orders), then Multiplication/Division (left to right), then Addition/Subtraction (left to right). For 3 + 4 × 2 = 11 (not 14). Always use parentheses explicitly when in doubt — it costs nothing and prevents errors. Implicit multiplication (e.g. 2(3+4)) follows the same precedence as explicit (×).
